We recognize that for some people pornography has a bad effect. However, so does alcohol. Time ago in the 1930's to fight the evils that alcohol causes to some people, alcoholic beverages were prohibited. In consequence, criminals stepped in to supply what was no longer lawful. If pornography were to be prohibited, criminals would provide it and we would have millions of new criminals to prosecute. The same reasoning cannot be applied to all crimes.
